Class meets 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm, Tuesday evenings for 8 weeks.
OGMS instructors Nancy Bogart & Kirsten Meeker lead this class. Adults, 18 years and older only.

Class Description and pertinent information for attendees, please read:
Learn the skills necessary to construct silver jewelry. Students will be introduced to the concepts of jewelry construction; design planning, sawing, forming, torch soldering, bezel setting and finishing.
A bezel set cabochon pendant project is taught. The equipment necessary to complete the basic project is provided by OGMS for students to use. Students are welcome to bring their own equipment- it should be clearly marked. Returning students may follow the project or work on their own projects with guidance from the instructor as time allows.
A safety orientation is conducted on the first day of class and cannot be made up if missed. The first 4 weeks of class impart key information and should not be missed by new students.
Classroom Consumables Fee- A $12 fee for gas, general supplies, equipment maintainence and other operational expenses will be collected the first night of class from all attendees. Cash only, please bring exact change. This fee can also be paid for during the registration process- doing so will provide a small discount.
Student Silver Materials Kit– This fee varies due to market fluctuations, is estimated at $35. Actual costs may vary by a few dollars. Only new students need to purchase a kit. Kits will be available on the first night of class and can be paid for in cash or by charge card, no checks please.
NOTE: The Silver Materials kit is sufficient to complete the beginning project, and if conservative at least one additional project. Returning students will need to source and purchase their own metals and stones for additional projects.
Classes are conducted by volunteer members of the Oxnard Gem & Mineral Society, under the the auspices of the City of Oxnard, Dept. of Recreation.

You will have 20 minutes to complete the registration process. After that time, if registration is not completed, the ticket will be released to another applicant.
